Upside Down
Vortex
The images 'Upside Down' and 'Vortex' show a paper weight made by my Mom Jenny. She is a glass artist and allowed me to take pictures of her work. In the paper weight, you can see a flower, but I tried to look at something else in the image. 'Upside Down' shows our yard upside down at the bottom of the sphere. I think it looks really cool and that's why I didn't put a filter on there because otherwise the effect would be gone. I took the other picture from right above it. I put the filter Mosaic on it. The flower reminds me of a vortex that way. I like the colors in both pictures because they look cheering up and happy.
Diver
Autumn
The pictures 'Diver' and 'Autumn' shows a paper weight by my Mom Jenny as well. The first image has no filter and hows the object from above. Because my Mom captured some air bubbles in that peace, it looks like there is air coming up out of water. Like there would be a diver down there. That's why I named it 'Diver', even though the color isn't water-like. The other photo reminds me of Autumn because of the colors. The orange, red, yellow, and brown remind me of leaves during Fall. The blue spaces between those 'leaves' look like a tree which has already lost leaves and is a little bit see through now. I the filter Crystalize a lot, because it reminds me of many Modern Art pieces.
Stream
Nauseas
The photos 'Stream' and 'Nauseas' show blue glass ornament made by my Mom, Jenny. The first photo shows the ornament from one side and you see that the glass was pulled to a texture so it there are lines going horizontal and parallel in one direction. That reminds me of a water stream. Because it shows movement and the color is similar to water. The second picture has the filter Color Halftone on it and shows the ornament from below. I don't like that filter at all because it kind of destroys the image. I named it 'Nauseas' because I feel sick when I'm looking at it. Because of the filter, there is too much happening which is distracting.
Wicked
Dangerous
The photos 'Wicked' and 'Dangerous' show a sculpture of my Dad Tad. The sculpture is a animal skull with a antler on a human body. There are strings around the body of the figure. The first photo looks wicked to me because the animal skull looks alive because it is on a human body. It reminds me of a evil witch or of something superhuman. The photo 'Dangerous' shows the same sculpture from the side/behind. I called it 'Dangerous' because the sculpture looks like it is looking for something or hunting. The filter Mezzotint reminds me of that the viewer of the sculpture is hurt by it and is about to pass out. In that case, the filter matches - otherwise I'm not a big fan of the filter.
Blown Away
Almost Gone
I named these photos 'Blown Away' and 'Almost Gone' because the cloths and the hair of the woman are blown in one direction. This sculpture, by my Dad Tad, has a deeper meaning which I won't explain because of the artists private reasons. The filter Pointalize is covering parts of the sculpture, which is already blowing away and it looks like the filter could increase so the sculpture would be gone. That's why I named it 'Almost Gone'. I don't like the filter as much because it's adding color to the image which doesn't belong there.
