Personal Background
Clarisse Alasseur is a 16 years old high school student from France. She was born on the 28th May 2002 in Grenoble. She still lives in Grenoble, but her father lives in the Alps where she sometimes goes to visit him and to also take pictures. She spent some months in Germany as an exchange student of my cousin. This is how I met her. Carrying her camera with her, she travels to many different places and takes pictures of her friends, landscapes, people and still lives.

Style
Most of her pictures are Portraits, but she also has many landscape pictures and still lives. Her portraits are very detailed and she always takes lots of time with them. I interviewed her and she says that her pictures are very precisely, colorful and she tries to capture the moment. Authenticity is very important for her, and I see all those things in her photography. Because I speak French, and she answered me in French because her English isn't as good, so it took some time to translate her messages and the translations might not be as accurate.

Philosophy
Her photography often shows her friends in a very personal way. She also tries to have fun and crazy subjects in her photos. She sent me a list of her ideas:
- shopping card
- carousel
- soap-bubbles
- dancing
- swimming pools
- studio apartments
With many of her pictures she tries to remember people of normal but beautiful things in life. With the simpleness of her objects she wants to amaze people.

Influence
She influenced me with the time she takes to take a good picture. I also try to get as many details as she does. To get a good variety of photos, she travels a lot which I'll take as an example. She says that she takes pictures of everything that might be interesting even though she doesn't really like it in that moment. She sometimes starts liking them after she edited them and just waited a little bit.

Untitled - Getting Ready
The pictures both show girls, putting lipstick on with their phones as mirrors to see what they're doing. I chose a person with dark hair and round glasses. Differences are the lipstick color, and lipstick shape, the light is warm in my picture, and colder in the other one. Also the position is a little bit different, and my model wore nail polish. All of her pictures don't have titles, so I put titles on top of each description, how I would name. Source: Instagram

Untitled - Happy New Year
Here you can see 4 wine bottles standing in a glass bowl full of ice, standing on a wooden table, next to a glass/plastic cup. For this picture I had to buy a glass bowl that size, and as you can see, my bowl is a little bit smaller than the original one. I got the empty wine bottles from a wine store for free. It was hard to shoot this image because the background is different and the light is very difficult to create. All in all, the images still look different, but I gave my best to create a similar image. Source: Instagram

Untitled - Plane to Germany
Those pictures don't have many things but 3 elements in common. I got a toy plane for the picture. Unfortunately it had a different color. I put a globe in the picture which is different from the one in the original picture. A similarity is, that it is facing with the side of South America. The flowers are a little bit different as well of course, but the biggest difference, which is very annoying to me, is the background and the light. I tilted it Plane to Germany because she posted that picture before she flew to Germany on exchange. Source: Instagram

Personal Artist Statement
"Getting Ready" shows a girl getting ready for a party or for going out. She is already outside, on her way, but forgot to put on lipstick and she doesn't have a mirror with her, so she uses her phone to see what she's doing. The photo uses the Rule of Thirds and there are still some background noise, but I tried to get rid of them by blurring them out.
"Happy New Year" is kind of the title of the other photo. I found it written in the description. So I titled it "Happy New Year" because it shows wine bottles which has something to do with celebration. I also used the Rule of Thirds here, and blurred out the background. I think the fact that it only "touches" the 2 left points of the Rule of Thirds makes it very interesting. It looks kind of unbalanced but more interesting.
I actually titled the last picture "Plane to Germany" that way because I knew that she took the picture before she went on exchange to Germany. The photo can also relate to me because I am on exchange right now. I couldn't really blur the background, which makes some annoying background noises. The viewpoint is a little bit different as well, but I still tried my best. Maybe I don't really like the picture because the Rule of Thirds doesn't really apply to this photo.
All in all it wasn't very fun to shoot these pictures because I felt a little bit limited on my possibilities even though we of course were able to change the image a little bit. I like to shoot photos spontaneously without a lot of planning.
